You have the possibility to learn the theory from home in e-learning before coming. PADI eLearning allows you to easily integrate the theory of diving before you start your training with us, saving you time. Study the principles and terminology of scuba diving at a time and place convenient to you. Work at your own pace, online or offline, on a computer or mobile device. Connect with your instructor when you have a question. Once the theory has been validated, your instructor will go over the essential points with you in person.

Prerequisites and minimum age
No prerequisites are required to enroll in the PADI Open Water Diver course, supervised by a qualified instructor. However, you must be at least 10 years old to take part in this training or initiation course. Children aged 10 to 14 receive the Junior Open Water Diver level, which will automatically be upgraded to the standard level at age 15, enabling them to go on to Master Scuba Diver and Rescue Diver courses. We advise you to reserve your place in advance to guarantee optimum availability.
Number of dives and duration of training
The course comprises a minimum of five open-water dives, including four training sessions at various depths and one evaluation dive. These dives allow divers to explore different sites and levels of difficulty while enjoying an unforgettable first dive. The total duration of the course generally varies between 3 and 4 days, and can be adapted according to availability.
Program content
By following the Open Water Diver program, you’ll benefit from comprehensive instruction divided into several stages:
– Theory session: learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including physics, equipment, planning and safety procedures.
– Pool or confined water sessions: develop practical skills such as breathing, buoyancy and underwater communication.
– Open-water dives: put the skills you’ve learned into practice on instructor-led underwater explorations.

Holders of this certification can apply to the French federation for official recognition.
