The PADI® Rescue Diver course will teach you how to identify and resolve minor incidents before they become major problems, giving you confidence and peace of mind. You will practice basic rescue techniques and apply them in the natural environment during 5 dives. You will practice handling situations, such as treating a leg cramp or helping a tired diver, through scenarios and role-playing with other students and your instructor.

In addition, to validate your Rescue Diver training, you will attend the Emergency First Response® primary and secondary care training. Learn eight essential techniques for helping others in an emergency before emergency medical services arrive. Get hands-on experience administering CPR on a CPR mannequin, practice bandaging and splinting, and apply your new skills in a role-play scenario.
Theoretical courses available in e-learning
You have the possibility to learn the theory from home in e-learning before coming. PADI eLearning allows you to easily integrate the theory of diving before you start your training with us, saving you time. Study the principles and terminology of scuba diving at a time and place convenient to you. Work at your own pace, online or offline, on a computer or mobile device. Connect with your instructor when you have a question. Once the theory has been validated, your instructor will go over the essential points with you in person.

Become an underwater rescue expert with the PADI Rescue Diver course
The PADI Rescue Diver course, taught by our center and our qualified instructors, enables you to acquire advanced diving skills and prepare you to manage and prevent underwater first-aid emergencies.
By developing your knowledge of materials and equipment, as well as rescue skills, stress management and recognizing the warning signs of diving-related problems, you’ll become a safer, more responsible diver.
Prerequisites to register for the Rescue Diver course at our center
To register for the Rescue Diver course at our center, you must meet the following criteria:- Be at least 12 years old
– Be certified as an Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
– Have completed CPR and first aid training within the last two years (such as the Emergency First Response course)
– Have at least 20 logged dives.
Rescue Diver course: practical and theoretical exercises
The course program offered by our center includes:
– A minimum of 5 confined water or pool sessions to master rescue techniques thanks to our adapted training
– A minimum of 4 open water dives to put these techniques into practice during simulated emergency scenarios supervised by our instructors
– The total duration of the course is generally 3 to 4 days, including practical and theoretical exercise sessions.
Skills covered in the Rescue Diver course at our center
During your training with us, you will learn to:
– Recognize and manage stress in divers
– Assess diving emergencies
– Perform underwater search and recovery with the right equipment
– Perform CPR and provide appropriate first aid in the event of a diving accident
Career opportunities after completing the PADI Rescue Diver courses at our center
Once you’ve been certified as a PADI Rescue Diver, you’ll be more at ease handling emergency situations and helping other divers in case of need.
This training is also an important prerequisite if you wish to go on to professional-level training, such as Divemaster or diving instructor.
FFESSM equivalence of the Rescue Diver PADI diploma issued by our center
The PADI Rescue Diver certification obtained at our center is generally recognized as FFESSM level 3 (Plongeur Niveau 3 – PA30), although precise conditions may vary according to the specific rules of each federation.
We recommend that you contact the FFESSM for up-to-date information on these equivalences.
